Maggie Higgins Schmidt

Maggie Higgins Schmidt, Esq. is a licensed attorney authorized to practice in Arizona and Federal courts. She is the sole owner of The Higgins Law Group P.L.L.C. and is of counsel with The Law Offices of Thomas Higgins for some criminal manners.

Mrs. Schmidt has always had a strong desire to practice law, and completed her Bachelors of Science from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in Business Administration, Business Law, and Psychology.

After graduating, she returned to her Tucson hometown and attended the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. She clerked for Magistrate Judge Charles Pyle in United States District Court while attending law school.

She spent one summer working on family law and bankruptcy cases at Southern Arizona Legal Aid.  Throughout the three years of her legal education, she worked as a 38d attorney for victims of domestic violence, children in dependency actions, and individuals needing assistance with marital dissolution and child custody.

She spent over two years as a clerk for the Pima County Public Defender’s Office, gaining much experience in all types of criminal defense cases, criminal investigation and appellate issues.

As a 38d attorney, Mrs. Schmidt co-chaired three major felony trials, including a sexual offense case, an armed robbery case, and a six-week long first degree murder trial.
