Manmeet K. Dhindsa is an associate in Venable’s eCommerce, Privacy, and Cybersecurity Group in Washington, DC, where she focuses her practice on privacy and data security law.
She provides counsel on compliance with a variety of laws and regulations, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, as well as related state laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Manmeet also provides counsel related to global data protection and advises clients on compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). She has experience advising clients on the application of the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles, and other self-regulatory efforts in the online advertising industry.
Manmeet’s data security experience includes counseling clients through data security breach notification obligations, and assisting clients with preparing and revising information security policies and incident response plans.
In association with these matters, she has represented client interests in investigations and enforcement actions before state attorneys general, state regulatory agencies, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Department of Justice.
While in law school, Manmeet interned for the White House Office of Legislative Affairs and was a legal extern for the House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary.
