Mr. Marc J. Gurell is a corporate/real estate law partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Gurell routinely advises clients on planning, structuring and executing sophisticated corporate, real estate and licensing transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures and financings (traditional, mezzanine and preferred equity).
Mr. Gurell counsels clients from entrepreneurial start-ups to large privately held companies through each phase of growth as outside general counsel. He advises on issues of appropriate form of organization, business plans, stockholder, partnership and operating agreements, commercial transactions and dispute resolution. Mr. Gurell helps clients develop forward looking strategies that meet their short and long term goals.
Mr. Gurell, who has an accounting background, has also been employed as Assistant Corporation Counsel at the Office of the Corporation Counsel of the City of New York as well as tax counsel for two of the nation’s top accounting firms and has significant experience in representing taxpayers in tax controversy matters.
