
With more than two decades of experience in U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law, Maria “Marisa” I. Casablanca represents corporate clients and individuals in obtaining immigration assistance and benefits. She is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by The Florida Bar, and was a member of The Florida Bar’s Certification Committee for Immigration and Nationality Law. She has also served on national liaison committees with USCIS and the Department of State.
Clients seek Marisa’s reliable counsel on the full spectrum of immigration issues, including obtaining employment visas, investment and business-related visas and residency for foreign nationals, representing family members of permanent residents and U.S. Citizens, and assisting those seeking asylum. She has developed an expertise in the EB-5 field of visas as one of the first Spanish speaking attorneys handling high net worth clients from Latin America.
A highly experienced litigator, Marisa practices in all areas of Immigration law. She previously filed a petition for certiorari with the Supreme Court on an immigration issue that conflicted with different states. She has also filed writs of mandamus with the Southern District of Florida. Additionally, Marisa advises employers on compliance procedures and represents employers before Immigration and Customs Enforcement with respect to audits.
She also counsels individuals on how to maintain their status in the United States and assist them in planning their permanent residence in the United States. Clients refer to her as the attorney of hard cases as she is able to think out of the box and apply innovative strategies.
