Marie Avery Moses is an experienced attorney specializing in Family law in Denver, Colorado. In her 23 years of legal career, she has earned a reputation for providing compassionate, thoughtful, and sensible representation to clients facing complex family law problems. She works closely with her clients and presents their cases for resolution through litigation or mediation.

Marie A. Moses is an active member of the Amicus Committee of the Colorado Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She has also contributed to the brief on the issue of parental constitutional rights, which the organization has submitted to the Colorado Supreme Court.
She has served as the former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, a position to which she the attorneys throughout the state of Colorado elected her. She Lectured at the Barbri Family Law Review from 2000 to 2008.
She is the Co-Chair of the Family Law Section Legislative Committee of the Colorado Bar Association where she works with members of the Colorado legislature to formulate and draft legislation concerning parenting time, domestic violence, child support, paternity, grandparent & third-party visitation issues, and maintenance.
She was the Co-Editor for The Colorado Lawyer’s Family Law column from 2002 to 2006, and chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s 2009 Family Law Institute. She frequently testifies before Colorado House and Senate Committees regarding all areas of domestic relations.
Before starting her family law practice, she clerked for the Honorable Edwin G. Ruland of the Colorado Court of Appeals for two years. She has gained expertise in handling appeals in domestic relations cases and obtaining favorable results for clients as counsel for both appellants and appellees due to her experience on the Court of Appeals while working there.
Marie Moses has successfully argued three published cases, lectured on appellate procedures for the Colorado Bar Association, and published her work in The Colorado Lawyer.
She obtained Bachelor’s of Arts with honors from the University of Virginia and Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law in 1992 and 1995 respectively.
While in law school, she received the Order of St. Ives; Chancellor’s Scholar; American Jurisprudence Award in Family Law; and Award for Scholastic Excellence in Legal Professionalism. She was a member of the University of Denver’s Trial Team and Law Review.
She is presently a partner with the law firm Lass Moses Ramp & Cooper LLC. Before joining her current law firm, she was a partner with law firms Kelly Garnsey Hubbell Lass LLC and Cook, Cooper & Moses, LLC during 2008 – 2011 and 2004 – 2008.
