Marihug Cedeño is an associate in Weil’s Complex Commercial Litigation practice and a member of the Firm’s Cybersecurity, Data Privacy & Information Management group. Ms. Cedeño’s litigation practice encompasses a broad range of matters involving antitrust, False Claims Act, contract and other commercial disputes in state and federal court, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums.
Among her recent notable experience, Ms. Cedeño was on the Weil trial team that secured a unanimous defense jury verdict for Johnson & Johnson following a four-week bellwether trial in New Jersey state court where Plaintiffs alleged failure to warn, design defect, and manufacturing defect claims related to Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder.
This marked the first win for the company in New Jersey state courts, where thousands of similar cases are pending. Ms. Cedeño also serves on the Weil team in a major multi-district litigation regarding alleged price-fixing in the market for cathode-ray tubes.
Ms. Cedeño has experience counseling on privacy and data security issues. She is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US) and has assisted clients in creating privacy policies and advising on privacy and data security issues in corporate transactions.
Ms. Cedeño returned to Weil after completing a clerkship with the Honorable George B. Daniels in the Southern District of New York from 2017-2018. She received her J.D. from Cornell Law School, where she was a Note Editor for the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. She graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Policy Analysis and Management.
