
A seasoned litigator, Mario Cometti has a diverse background and a long track record of successfully representing individuals and businesses throughout New York and State and around the country. As a Partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC, his practice focuses on litigation. This includes family and matrimonial law – representing parents, spouses and other parties in cases involving divorce, child support, child custody, child visitation, property rights, spousal support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, domestic violence issues and post-divorce issues such as modification and enforcement.
He also practices civil and commercial litigation; representing businesses of all sizes in a wide range of issues, including contract disputes, contract negotiations, dispute resolution and advising companies on best business legal practices. Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, Mario gained years of extensive experience in Connecticut and the New York Metropolitan area representing parties – including high net worth individuals – in complex litigation and divorce proceedings.
He has also represented health care systems and provider groups as a consultant in the ever-changing field of health care law and, when necessary, in litigation against insurers and payers for various types cases such as contract disputes, unfounded disclaimers or underpayments and the recovery of fees. Additionally, Mario has years of experience in personal injury lawsuits, both as a defense and plaintiff counsel.
Mario is well known throughout New York for his support and assistance in various community action activities and initiatives. Mario is the Chair of VETCON, an Alliance Board (consisting of leaders in the business, institutional education and not-for profit field) who together created and sponsored an annual conference which has morphed into a statewide project assisting veteran owned business and helping secure employment opportunities for veterans.
Further, he is the Chair of the Center for Advancement & Understanding of Social Enterprises (CAUSE), sponsored and created by the University of Albany School of Business. CAUSE promotes social entrepreneurship at the university and in the region by building on School of Business strengths in research, teaching and service, and by applying business expertise to benefit business, government and the nonprofit sector. Mario is also involved in the startup business community, always looking to help new entrepreneurial ventures with legal guidance.
