Mark S. Boyagi is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. His practice focuses on advising sponsors of, and institutional investors in, open-ended and closed-ended private investment funds, co-investment programs and separately managed accounts, covering various sectors and strategies, including agriculture, buyout, debt, distressed, energy, infrastructure, insurance and real estate. He also advises sponsors and investors in connection with secondary transactions and fund restructures and re-capitalizations, and other sponsor-led liquidity solutions.
Mr. Boyagi’s recent experience includes acting for clients such as JP Morgan, Blackstone Group, Apollo Global Management, Elliott Management Corporation, HarbourVest Partners, StepStone Group and Global Infrastructure Partners.
Mr. Boyagi joined the firm in 2017. Prior to joining Debevoise, he practiced as a solicitor at a leading Australian law firm, specializing in fund formation, funds-related mergers and acquisitions, joint-venture and platform arrangements, funds-related IPOs and secondary capital raisings, distressed fund work-outs and activist investor matters.
From October 2016 to May 2017, Mr. Boyagi acted as a consultant to the Commonwealth Treasury in relation to the development of legislation for Australia’s new corporate collective investment vehicle and the Asia Region Funds Passport.
Mr. Boyagi received an LL.B. (with Honors) and a B.Com (with Distinction) from the University of New South Wales in 2012.
