Mark Alan Connolly has a complex litigation practice representing governmental entities, together with for profit and not-for-profit companies, in local government matters, as well as representing health care providers and other professionals in regulatory and contractual disputes. Clients consider Mark to be a legal “quarterback,” with the connections and experience to get to the right people and resolve matters quickly and efficiently.
With more than 20 years of experience handling local government matters, Mark has extensive experience litigating for and against governments, in addition to handling general governmental matters, such as advising clients on proper handling of public meetings; negotiating contracts and inter-local agreements; and counseling public officials on ethics, the Sunshine Law, and the Public Records Law.
This experience, paired with his 10-year tenure as the city attorney for the City of Temple Terrace, Florida, allows Mark to know the players in city and county offices to get things done. Clients benefit from his work on both sides of the fence, which gives him an understanding of how government works and thinks, and how to obtain information beneficial to his clients.
On the private side of his practice, Mark has successfully represented health care providers in various administrative and litigation matters, including credentialing, licensure, and enforcement of noncompetition agreements. He is part of a team that successfully represented a nationally recognized medical facility in intellectual property litigation, and he led a team that prevailed in an arbitration for a physician against a national provider of dialysis services.
In addition, corporate and individual fiduciaries and beneficiaries look to Mark for representation in significant trust and estate litigation, and he currently serves as general counsel to child welfare agencies in Southwest Florida.
