Mark Seymour Boardman
Mark Boardman has a general practice, with an emphasis in government law. Mark has served as president and vice president of the Alabama Council of School Board Attorneys and for ten years on its Board of Directors.
He has served as president and vice president of the Alabama Association of Municipal Attorneys, offices he held for two years, respectively. He served two terms as City Attorney for the City of Hoover, Alabama’s sixth largest city, and has represented the City of Chelsea since 2007. He has represented over 200 state and local governments and/or employees of those state and local governments. Mark has been counsel in over 210 published opinions for government entities or their employees in cases covering all aspects of claims and litigation against state and local government.
Mark served as two terms as president of the Shelby County, Alabama, Bar Association, the sixth largest in Alabama. He also served two terms as vice-president, two terms as secretary, and three terms as treasurer of the Shelby County Bar Association.
Mark is a frequent speaker at continuing education presentations held by the Alabama League of Municipalities, the Alabama Association of School Boards, the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools, the Alabama Education Association, the Alabama Probate Judges Association, the Alabama Public Safety Leadership Academy, the Shelby County Bar Association, the Alabama Association of School Personnel Administrators, the Alabama School Public Relations Association, the Alabama High School Athletic Association, and the Alabama Law Institute, as well as for local governments for the benefit of their employees.
