She has acquired formal training in Mediation from Mosten Mediation and completed 40 hours of basic family law mediation training through Divorce Mediation Training program and 20 hours of advanced family law mediation training.

She has also served on the Los Angeles Superior Court Family Law Mediation Panel. She graduated with honors from California Polytechnic University in Pomona in 1989 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and major in Law, Finance, and Real Estate. She worked as a Financial Analyst for a security protection company in Culver City in California from 1989 to 1991.

She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Southwestern University School of Law and the license to practice law in the state of California in 1994. She worked with the Law Offices of Robert K. Holmes as an attorney and focused exclusively on Family Law. She simultaneously served as an adjunct professor for a semester at La Verne University School of Law and taught Community Property.

She worked with the law firms Kolodny & Anteau and Mayer, Glassman & Gaines during 1998 – 1999 and 1999 – 2001 before founding the Van Oorschot Law Group, PC in October 2001.
