Mary Katherine McGetrick is a partner in the Real Estate and Financial Services Section. She counsels developers, investors, landlords and tenants in a wide range of complex real estate transactions, including the acquisition, development, financing and leasing of commercial and residential properties.
Mary Katherine works with real estate developers to finance and acquire land and negotiate ground leases for single tenant projects and retail space leases with national credit tenants. She has been involved in large land assemblages for mixed-use projects, including single and multi-family housing, as well as town center and public space components. Mary Katherine also works with community banking clients to handle loan closings for construction and permanent financing for retail, mixed-use and single family housing projects.
She has significant experience counseling clients in the health care industry, including drafting and negotiating medical office building leases for health care systems, doctors and medical practice groups. Mary Katherine is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond and a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Richmond Bar Association.
Mary Katherine received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served as interscholastic chairperson of the Moot Court Board and editor-at-large of the Richmond Journal of Law and the Public Interest.
