Ms. Welsh has a broad perspective on business reorganizations, having represented various parties, including financial institutions, equity holders, corporate creditors, creditors’ committees, bondholders’ committees, and insurance companies, as well as corporate debtors, in various industries, such as the healthcare, retail, trucking, hotel, communications, optical, and agricultural commodities industries – with primary focus in the health care industry including particular focus on hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes), and assisted living centers. - Representation of major financial institution in connection with formation and initial operation of its debtor-in-possession financing unit and subsequent representation thereof nationwide in both its pre- and post-confirmation financings.
- Representation of a securities fraud claimants’ committee in a Northern District of Illinois Chapter 11 case involving in excess of $2 billion of indebtedness through confirmation of the plan, and representation post-confirmation of liquidating trust established under the plan.
- Representation of agent bank in multi-bank $100 million credit in out-of-court workout involving multiple radio and television stations and ultimate sale thereof to a major network.
