Matthew C. Salmonsen graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in May of 2009. While at SCU, Matthew volunteered for the Northern California Innocence Project, which works to exonerate innocent death row inmates. While in law school, Mr. Salmonsen also volunteered at the Katherine and George Alexander Community Law Center in San Jose, California, which provides pro bono legal advice to low income individuals in the San Jose area.
In addition to his volunteer work in law school, Mr. Salmonsen held numerous leadership positions. He was elected by his peers to serve on the Student Bar Association in the role of organizing student competetions, served as President of the golf club Legal Links, and served as an editor on the Computer and High Technology Law Journal. Mr. Salmonsen also interned for former CIA Director and US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta at the Panetta Institute in Monterey, California.
Mr. Salmonsen has worked hard to serve underprivileged and underserved members of this community since moving to California in 2007. Since joining the Consumer Law Center, Inc., Mr. Salmonsen has put his experience to use in fighting for the underdogs. Mr. Salmonsen continues to attend conferences and web seminars on how best to defend consumers and stop abusive debt collection practices. Mr. Salmonsen also has experience in helping consumers with student loan debt.
