Matthew Celestin is a senior associate who focuses on complex litigation matters. Before joining WilmerHale, Mr. Celestin was an intern for the Honorable Rosemary M. Collyer of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Mr. Celestin assisted the Judge and law clerks with legal research and drafting bench memoranda and opinions for various legal issues, including criminal and civil matters.
In 2012, Mr. Celestin was an intern with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) – Office of General Counsel. While there, he assisted in responding to various Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests submitted to the OMB and other agencies. He also assisted in drafting Executive Orders.
In 2011, Mr. Celestin was an intern for the South African Human Rights Commission in Cape Town, South Africa.
He researched human rights issues regarding water and sanitation by examining international conventions and local regulations. He also drafted a report used by the Commission in a “Water for Life” campaign.
