Matthew Frogel is an Associate in the Houston office where he advises businesses and individuals on a wide range of tax matters. Matt focuses his practice primarily on partnership tax matters advising Limited Liability Companies, Private Equity Funds, S Corporations and Master Limited Partnerships on complex tax issues surrounding formation, operations, and deal structuring.
Matt also represents individuals and businesses on state and Federal tax controversy matters. Prior to joining the Firm, Matt was a Tax Controversy Associate at KPMG LLP where he represented Fortune 500 companies and other foreign and domestic corporations, partnerships and individuals in tax controversies before all levels of the IRS.
While in law school, Matt worked as a corporate law clerk at Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. where he assisted the general counsel in drafting and negotiating numerous agreements including mezzanine financing agreements, IP licensing agreements, global marketing agreements, and asset purchase agreements.
