  • Successfully resolving litigation against the J. Paul Getty Trust related to ownership of eight illuminated pages from a medieval gospel manuscript.
  • Representing the Imperial Irrigation District in litigation and administrative proceedings related to the Quantification Settlement Agreement, a landmark agreement for the transfer of Colorado River water.

In 2013, Mr. Macdonald participated in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Trial Advocacy Program, where he first and second chaired tried six cases to verdict. Prior to joining Munger Tolles, Mr. Macdonald clerked for Judge Carlos T. Bea of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Justice Nathan L. Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court.

Mr. Macdonald graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School. He received his B.A. in history and political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and his M.A. in international relations from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.
