
Matthew W. Morrison is a partner in the law firm’s Environmental & Natural Resources practice and is located in the Washington, DC and Houston offices. Mr. Morrison has over 25 years of experience providing compliance counseling and environmental litigation representation involving the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Superfund, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, and the Endangered Species Act.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Morrison served as the Acting Director and Associate Director of the Air Enforcement Division in EPA’s Office of Civil Enforcement. He also served as Deputy Director of EPA’s Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics, and Training.
In addition to his leadership roles at EPA, Mr. Morrison served for over thirteen years as a trial and then supervising attorney in the Environmental Enforcement Section at the U.S. Department of Justice.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Morrison was a chemical engineer whose duties included process modernization and environmental compliance.
Mr. Morrison is an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University School of Law, instructing students on the provisions and policies of the Clean Air Act and its regulations.
Mr. Morrison is currently admitted to practice law in Washington, DC and will soon be admitted in Texas.
