Prior to founding Dickson Kohan & Bablove LLP, Matthew was a partner in a respected national law firm representing fortune 500 companies, global insurers, and municipal entities.
In his former practice, Matthew focused primarily on defending toxic exposure, environmental, and general liability claims made against large real estate developers, trucking companies, product manufacturers, local schools, and one of the largest public utilities in the country.
As a result of his dedication and success in the courtroom, Matthew was recognized in 2015 as a Rising Star by California Super Lawyers Magazine and his recent trial victory on behalf of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was published by Verdict Search in its January 2016 Products Liability Report.
This experience gives Matthew a wealth of knowledge that he now uses to help individuals and small businesses obtain justice and fair compensation for their injuries.
While in law school, Matthew served as Lead Articles Editor of the Whittier Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board. He also received the CALI Excellence Award twice, was named to the Dean’s List and Honor Roll and was awarded the Dean’s Merit Scholarship.
Matthew also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford, United States District Court Judge for the Central District of California, when he sat by designation on a panel for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2007.
In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and two young sons, Bryce and Garrett, as well as running, golfing, camping, and cheering on the University of Arizona Wildcats Basketball team.
