Matthew Specht is an associate in the Litigation Department. He joined Debevoise in 2018. From 2016 to 2017 he clerked for Chief Judge Rebecca Beach Smith of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and from 2017 to 2018 he clerked for Judge Allyson K. Duncan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Specht received a J.D. from Yale Law School in 2015. He received a B.A. summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2009. Previously, he was a litigation associate at a prominent international law firm in New York and worked on a variety of white collar and civil litigation matters.
Prior to law school, Mr. Specht taught middle school math in Kansas City, Missouri and Brooklyn, New York.
