Maureen Stampp focuses on representing employers in all facets of traditional labor law, employment defense litigation and multi-employer fund ERISA litigation. She has significant experience in litigating cases under the federal and state employment discrimination statues; wage and hour cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act and analogous state regulations; class actions and collective actions under federal and state laws; the WARN Act; Family Medical Leave Act; and federal and state duty of fair representation cases filed against union clients.
Maureen advises and represents employers on union contract negotiations and the grievance and arbitration processes; provides counsel for union avoidance campaigns; and defense for employers on withdrawal liability assessments by multi-employer pension plans. She represents employers in discrimination cases in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, NYC Commission on Human Rights, National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Labor.
Additionally, Maureen counsels employers on preventative, corrective and remedial measures and conducts anti-discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace professionalism seminars. She works closely with human resource departments to draft and update employee handbooks to comply with changes in state and federal employment law.
