May Tal Gongolevsky counsels clients on issues relating to electronic discovery, data privacy, software licensing, and general law and technology issues. As an attorney with a technical background as a computer programmer, she understands, advises and counsels clients on a myriad of legal and technical questions relating to the electronic discovery process, data mapping and technology licensing.

Having practiced abroad, May Tal is sensitive to legal and cultural differences that arise during international transactions negotiations, U.S. proceedings involving foreign participants, and data protection and data privacy issues.

A resourceful and client-focused advocate, she remains abreast of developments in the ever-changing fields of e-discovery and data privacy in order to understand and assist with the complex hurdles her clients face.

Experience :

  • Developed and implemented numerous complex data transfers for large multinational corporations subject to data protection restrictions in connection with ongoing U.S. proceedings. Handled legal and technical aspects to ensure cost savings and a legally defensible process.
  • Member of the team that represented a major European post-trade services provider in litigation relating to efforts to recover on a default judgment against a foreign government. Handled discovery, technology and data protection issues.
  • Provided discovery and data privacy advice to multiple international entities in connection with criminal and civil investigations led by the U.S. Department of Justice.
  • Advised local and foreign clients regarding data, discovery and privacy considerations in connection with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Department of Justice investigations into Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations.
  • Exclusively carried out the negotiation process over unique provisions and costs involved in technology licensing transactions for major telecommunications companies, billing providers, biotech and life sciences companies, and software developers.
