Meagan McKenney Gillette is a 2002 graduate of Brown University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and American Institutions. She graduated from Tulane Law School in 2005.
Meagan was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2005, and is licensed to practice in all State Courts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all United States District Courts in Texas.
After law school, Meagan joined Cox Smith Matthews where she gained experience in all aspects of federal and state litigation. Meagan was a member of the Intellectual Property and Privacy and Data Security practices, where she focused on copyright and trademark infringement, disputes involving Internet-specific issues, civil and criminal subpoena and warrant compliance matters, and electronic data retention and discovery issues.
In 2011, Meagan left her firm practice to serve as Law Clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Pamela Mathy, in the Western District of Texas. At the Court, Meagan’s work focused on the civil docket, where she gained particular experience in disputes involving patent infringement, commercial contracts, and employment matters.
In 2014, Meagan left the Court and pursued a freelance practice, where she assisted her attorney clients with all aspects of litigation, including briefing, research, discovery, and trial support.
Meagan joined the firm in 2016, and assists clients in all aspects of civil litigation, from pleading to trial. She has significant experience in construction, employment, business, and consumer litigation.
Meagan and her husband, Scott, are kept busy by their three young children, Connor, Emery, and Quinn, and enjoy entertaining friends and family at their home in Helotes.
