Megan Pearson is a partner with Smith, Welch, Webb & White, LLC, focusing in the area of litigation and using her trial skills in the courtroom.
Megan’s experience spans civil litigation, criminal defense, employment and domestic law. Megan has successfully tried criminal and civil jury trials at the state court level. Megan’s civil experience includes contract disputes, land lord tenant disputes, and defense of employers in benefit claims appeals.
In addition, Megan has also defended clients in suits brought by credit card companies at the state and magistrate court levels. Megan is also experienced in all aspects of family law, including divorce, legitimation, custody, child support and juvenile court matters.
Megan joined Smith, Welch, Webb & White after graduating from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2011 with her Juris Doctor. While attending Cumberland, Megan distinguished herself as an outstanding member of Cumberland’s Number 5 nationally ranked trial advocacy program and award winning trial team.
Megan was selected for the Nat Bryan American Board of Trial Advocates Excellence in Trial Advocacy Award and Scholarship, as well as being distinguished as Scholar of Merit for Advanced Skills in Trial Advocacy.
She was also selected as a national member of Order of the Barrister. While in law school, Megan served as an executive member of the Cumberland Trial Board and served as director of the Dean Parham Williams Freshman Trial Competition.
Megan is a member of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division, serving as a member of the Litigation Committee, as well as the Henry County Bar Association. Megan is also licensed to practice in the State of Alabama.
Megan began coaching the Eagles Landing High School Mock Trial Team in 2012. Under her direction, they have won back-to-back Regional Championships, 2013 and 2014; won the 2014 District Championship; and have competed in the State Championship two years in a row, placing in the top four in 2013 for the first time in the school’s history.
