Meghna Rao concentrates her practice on general and complex civil litigation matters in state and federal court, handling motion practice, discovery and trial preparation. She demonstrates agility in the workplace by choosing a collaborative and communicative approach with clients and team members.
Her experience includes serving on a team that successfully defended a publicly traded company in a multimillion-dollar SEC investigation, assisting in the testimony preparation and defense of C-suite executives. Additionally, she has meritoriously litigated million-dollar real estate and property disputes, delving into quiet title, foreclosure of mortgage, eminent domain and lease disputes.
Meghna finds immense joy in giving back to the community. She serves as a volunteer lawyer at the Legal Aid Society of Columbus where she assists with landlord tenant disputes and debt collection cases.
She serves on the board of two organizations close to her heart, the Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Women Lawyers of Franklin County. Meghna is an active member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Central Ohio, Ohio Women’s Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association.
While attending law school, Meghna gained experience in risk analysis and brand protection, working in the legal division of a Fortune 100 global consumer products company. She externed for Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor at the Supreme Court of Ohio and represented Moritz College of Law at the National Robert F. Wagner Moot Court Competition.
Meghna also served as a legal writing fellow for the L.L.M. legal writing program, aiding the L.L.M. students in their synthesis of US legal systems and case law, as well as research and writing. Meghna received CALI awards for excellence in Professional Responsibility and the Justice for Children Practicum.
