Melissa Bordeaux is an Associate at Fragomen’s Boston office. She has experience representing foreign nationals and employers in a wide range of business and family related immigration matters, including developing case strategies and filing E-3, H-1B, K-1, L-1, O-1 and TN nonimmigrant visa petitions with USCIS.
She prepares immigrant visa petitions for accomplished individuals involved in the arts, sciences, business, research and education, and guides employers and foreign nationals through the PERM Labor Certification process.
She also assists clients with family-based immigration matters, including relative and fiancé petitions, adjustment of status applications, hardship waivers and consular processing.
Melissa has conducted seminars on visa options for musicians at the Longy School of Music and delivers recurring sessions at the New England Conservatory and Boston University School of Music.
While in law school, Melissa was a Note Editor for the Boston College Journal of Law & Social Justice.
Melissa has been a volunteer attorney with the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project since 2013.
EXPERIENCE:
- Successfully obtained approvals for EB-1 and National Interest Waiver green cards for scientists working on aerospace exploration, renewable energy initiatives, and disease research; engineers developing cutting-edge medical and environmental technologies; entrepreneurs; and artists, including a Hollywood screenwriter/producer.
- Successfully obtained approvals for O-1 visas for classical pianists, opera singers, scientists, researchers, economists, an international peacekeeper, a yacht captain and a video game composer.
- Assisted individuals who have U.S. citizen spouses and children in obtaining I-601 and I-601A waivers.
