Melissa Christine Schultz-Miller is compassionate. Caring. Understanding.I grew up a military brat, and moved several times before returning to my mother’s hometown in Holly Pond, Alabama.
After finishing high school at Holly Pond High School, I moved to Tuscaloosa where I attended the University of Alabama as a Telecommunication and Film major. After graduating from the University of Alabama, I went on to have a successful career in television news working at stations in Alabama and Georgia.
In 2002, I married a soldier in the United States Army. Shortly thereafter, my family and I moved to Huntsville in 2003 after my husband was medically discharged from the Army due to injuries he sustained during Operation Enduring Freedom. I had to help my husband fight for his VA disability benefits.
From my own experience, I understand just what military families and veterans go through when a soldier is injured. I also understand the unique family issues that today’s military families face. For years, I was a stay at home mom of three who worked freelance jobs in sports media and publicity. I wanted to attend law school but the time never seemed just right.
Shortly after the birth of my third child, I began to attend law school at Birmingham School of Law. Shortly after starting law school, my husband and I separated and divorce proceedings began. I continued my legal education, driving to Birmingham three to five times a week. With help from my mother, family, and friends, I was able to finish the four year program in three years.
I finished cum laude, and in the top 8 percent of my law school class. I was certified by the Alabama State Bar shortly thereafter.I am committed to providing not only expert legal services to my clients, but am very committed to providing excellent customer service.
I never want my clients to ever feel like they are just another file on my desk or that their problems do not matter, because they do. I knows what it is like for an attorney not to return an important call, and I am committed to making sure all of my client’s calls and emails are returned in a timely manner. I knows just how difficult the legal process can be and I am there to help you through it every step of the way.
I have handled over a hundred cases. Clients trust me with the most important things to them – their families, their children, and their financial well-being. I do not take that trust lightly, and feel abundantly blessed that God has put me in the position to help people and make a difference in someone’s life.
