Melissa Sayoc is an Associate at Fragomen’s San Francisco office, where she primarily handles employment-based nonimmigrant matters. She assists clients in the technology, financial and retail sectors in procuring visas for professionals, intra-company transferees, free trade professionals and treaty/trade investors.
Melissa also has experience in both family-based and employment-based immigrant matters, including preparing unlawful presence waivers, filing permanent residence applications within the U.S. and at U.S. Consular posts, and representing clients in naturalization proceedings.
Melissa has supported lead attorneys in immigration litigation regarding appeals, deportation defense, bond hearings, naturalization and petitions for writs of certiorari.
Her pro bono work has included obtaining visas for victims of certain violent crimes and severe forms of human trafficking, as well as individuals eligible for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and asylum.
In this capacity, she has co-written successful appeals briefs before USCIS’ Administrative Appeals Office.
Melissa speaks English and Tagalog.
