Meredith H. Boerschlein focuses her practice on patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, primarily in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical areas. She assists with Hatch-Waxman litigation related to Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Meredith also counsels clients on issues arising under patent and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) law. Meredith is involved in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation analysis, discovery, and claim construction. Her experience includes drafting pleadings, participating in discovery, preparing expert reports, and handling day-to-day litigation activities.
Before law school, Meredith worked as a regulatory affairs associate for a microbiology company. Her work focused on ensuring regulatory compliance of various microbiological assays, communicating with clients and regulatory agencies, and investigating failed sterility batch-release testing of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
While in law school, Meredith worked as a summer associate and law clerk at Finnegan, assisting in litigation matters before the PTAB and federal district courts. She also worked as an intern analyzing patent applications in the Patent Experience Externship Program at the USPTO.
While earning a graduate degree from Johns Hopkins, Meredith concentrated her studies on the intersection of innovative biotechnology, regulatory affairs, and patent law. She also conducted undergraduate research studying signal transduction pathways.
Specifically, she focused on human follicle stimulating hormone signal pathways. Meredith’s pro bono practice includes representing clients in appeals before the Social Security Administration.
