Meredith Turner-Woolley is an Associate with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. She practices in the areas of medical malpractice defense and family law. She joined the firm in 2012. Meredith’s medical malpractice defense practice involves the defense of physicians, nurses, and hospitals in birth trauma and wrongful death cases.
Her background in crisis intervention, psychology and sociology provides her with insight into the stresses faced by patient care professionals and patients alike, offering her a unique advantage in defending these challenging cases.
Meredith additionally represents both Spanish and English speaking clients in all aspects of family law including divorce, custody, parentage, adoption and child support matters. She values strong attorney-client relationships built on trust and responsive communication. Meredith offers practical guidance while empowering her clients to identify and work towards their litigation goals.
Meredith graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School. During law school, she strengthened her skills in family law through her work as a family law intern with Cabrini Green Legal Aid and as an extern with the Honorable Judge Thomas J. Kelley in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Before beginning her legal career, Meredith worked primarily as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence. In this capacity, she provided crisis intervention to families, as well as community prevention and support programs focused on family violence. She has successfully completed the Illinois 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training as well as the Illinois Victim Assistance Academy.
