Michael J. Hertz practices in the firm’s Corporate and Business Law and Intellectual Property sections, focusing his expertise on corporate and intellectual property matters for both closely held and public companies.
His experience includes merger and acquisition and contract drafting and review for companies in high-tech and other industries. He files and prosecutes state and federal trademark applications and copyright applications.
In that role, he has represented clients in administrative proceedings in federal and state court as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Mike had the privilege to clerk for the Honorable Jackson L. Kiser, U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Virginia in Danville.
He serves numerous nonprofit organizations including Renovation Alliance and Total Action for Progress.
Mike was recognized by Virginia Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Virginia Business magazine selected him for its list of the state’s Legal Elite.
