
Michael Kantor is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L. His primary areas of practice include employment litigation, labor law, and commercial litigation. In the labor and employment field, Mr. Kantor handles discrimination charges and lawsuits brought against public and private entities pursuant to state and federal anti-discrimination and wage and hour laws, including Title VII, the FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, the Florida Civil Rights Act, and the Florida Whistle-blower’s Act.
Mr. Kantor also litigates unfair competition cases involving enforcement of non-compete agreements and misappropriation of trade secrets. He advises local governments and corporate clients with respect to employee discipline, retention and termination, employment manuals and policies, and contract interpretation.
Prior to joining us, Mr. Kantor practiced at one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms and has several years of experience defending director and officer, errors and omissions, and professional liability lawsuits.
He graduated from Nova Southeastern University Law School, where he was appointed to the Order of the Barrister in recognition of his superior advocacy skills. As a leader in the Moot Court Honor Society and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Mr. Kantor participated in several nationwide appellate advocacy and mock trial competitions.
