Michael McCoy

A Bay Area native, Michael McCoy studied Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley as a Marin Scholarship Fund recipient. He moved back to San Francisco after college, and worked as an account executive at a software company. Working with clients sparked an interest in client advocacy, and laid the foundation for his path to plaintiffs’ side litigation.

Michael attended Tulane Law School in New Orleans, and focused on environmental and public interest law. He participated in the Tulane Law School Environmental Law Clinic’s lawsuit against a major global oil company, and graduated with an Environmental Law Certificate.

Mike was active in student  organizations, helping to manage three Tulane Environmental Law Summits, while serving as Vice President of the Tulane Public Interest Law Foundation.

After law school, Michael worked at a not-for-profit that tracked corporate human rights compliance with federal and California state law. He performed reporting compliance assessments for multiple Fortune 100 companies, and advised presidents, senior VPs, and global directors on best reporting practices.

Michael met Lawrance Bohm while Lawrance was a visiting clinical professor at Tulane Law, and learned more about BLG’s role as an anti-discrimination and civil rights advocate in California. Michael was thrilled to accept a position at BLG, and to keep fighting the good fight.
