Michael P. Gardner is a principal of the firm’s Labor and Employment, Appellate and Litigation groups.
He handles a wide variety of matters ranging from compliance with, and litigation involving, federal employment and labor laws such as Title VII, the National Labor Relations Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act, to insurance coverage disputes, non-compete litigation and commercial torts.
Mike is a presenter at Woods Rogers’ annual Labor and Employment Seminar series. Mike is an active member of the Rotary Club of the Blue Ridge – New Generations, which works to assist underserved youth in the Roanoke Valley.
Mike is also the past Legislative Chair for the Roanoke Valley Society for Human Resource Management and is a Chair-Elect for the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association.
In his time at Washington and Lee University School of Law, Mike served as a Lead Articles Editor on the Washington and Lee Law Review, won the John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition and placed fourth in the Nation in the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition.
After graduating from law school, Mike had the privilege of clerking for the Hon. Jackson L. Kiser in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
