Mike Kane is a Denver trial lawyer who represents the victims of negligence in civil actions throughout Colorado. Mr. Kane specializes in automobile accident, premises liability, products liability and medical malpractice cases.
He is committed to the representation of victims and believes that there is no greater honor than helping people who can’t fight for themselves.
Immediately following law school, Mr. Kane served as a judge advocate in the US Marine Corps where he was a military prosecutor, defense counsel and operational attorney during a tour to Iraq.
He then worked as a Deputy District Attorney in 18th Judicial District, serving Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties. He has personally tried over 50 jury trials and has been awarded Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers and the American Society of Legal Advocates.
In 2014 Mr. Kane successfully tried two jury trials in two consecutive weeks. The first, with Steve Wahlberg, was an automobile case against a drunk driver. Our client sustained soft tissue injuries after being rear-ended on his motorcycle.
The jury returned a verdict that included punitive damages and resulted in a $400,000 judgment for the plaintiff. The second, with Michael Nimmo, was a contested liability automobile case against a trucking company in which our client suffered broken vertebrae in her spine.
Despite the police citing our client on-scene and testifying at trial that she caused the collision, Mr. Kane and Mr. Nimmo prevailed, resulting in a $772,000 judgment in US District Court.
In 2015 Mr. Kane and Mr. Wahlberg secured the largest personal injury verdict in Colorado (over $5,000,000) on behalf of their client who was struck by a commercial bus while walking in the crosswalk in downtown Denver.
