Mike began his legal career in early 1997 as a member of the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He worked as a prosecuting attorney in the Seattle, WA area, where he prosecuted over 150 courts martial and administrative discharge proceedings, many involving serious felonies.
During this time, Mike held a concurrent appointment as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington, in which capacity he prosecuted civilian and Department of Defense employees who stood accused of committing crimes on federal installations.
In 2000, Mike became the Staff Judge Advocate at Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME, where he advised the commanding officer, executive officer, and all department heads on a myriad of legal issues, including environmental law, labor relations, military justice, and government procurement activities.
Upon leaving active duty in 2003, Mike ran the litigation department at a small firm in South Burlington, Vermont. Mike has practiced civil litigation here in Connecticut since late 2004.
He has focused his practice on the defense of complex cases, including trucking and transportation, intermodal transportation, medical malpractice, admiralty, and premises liability.
Mike has tried just under forty cases to verdict, including nearly two dozen civil trials. He has extensive experience in both state and federal court. Mike has also volunteered his professional time by serving as a guardian ad litem and through pro bono work.
