Michael Smith focuses his practice on corporate, legislative, regulatory and policy matters related to the healthcare industry. Michael has particular knowledge regarding federal and state healthcareælaws and regulations, including privacy and security, fraud and abuse and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Prior to joining Clark Hill Strasburger, Michael served as Assistant General Counsel with the Texas Medical Association where he worked on legislative and regulatory matters related to Medicare, Medicaid, Texas Health and Human Services Commission, HHSC Office of Inspector General, provider audits and investigations, Texas Medical Board licensure and enforcement, and public health issues.
