Reared in Cleveland County, Arkansas, Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994 from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism.
He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1997. Michael serves as the City Attorney for Magnolia, Arkansas.
He is a member of the Arkansas and Columbia County Bar Associations and the American Association for Justice. He served as the President of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association in 2011-12.
He is the President of the Magnolia Economic Development Corporation and Magnolia Unlimited, Chairman of a Panel for the Office of Professional Conduct.
Michael also serves as Vice-President of the Arkansas 4-H Foundation, and is a board member of Magnolia Arts and The Caring Place.
He also served as a member of Trial Lawyers Care (a pro bono organization formed to assist 9/11 victims with claims). Michael and his wife, Jamie, have four children and one grandchild.
