At the law school, he won Pro Bono Award in 2010. We won CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for both Criminal Procedure and in Post-Conviction Practice in 2011. In the same year, he secured First Place in the Law School Talent Show.
Michael Donaldson served as an Intern at the California Rural Legal Assistance during 2006-2008. During his law school days, from 2009 to 2012, he acquired legal experience by working as a clerk at various organizations like Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office, the Northern California Innocence Project, Santa Clara University School Of Law, and Merced County Public Defender.
After obtaining his law degree, he joined the law firm, Green & Hall as an Associate and worked there from 2013 to 2015. Besides his legal practice, he also serves as a Professor of Political Science at the Mount San Jacinto College and as a Professor of Legal Research and Writing at the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation since 2015.
Attorney Donaldson is an active member of various professional associations like the Riverside County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the Southwest Riverside County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the California DUI Lawyers Association, and the California Public Defenders Association.
Mike Donaldson served as the Vice President of the Southwest Riverside County Bar Association in 2016-2017 and the elected President in 2018-2019. He serves as a Volunteer Attorney at the Inland Empire Latino Lawyers Association since 2016. He also serves as the co-chair of the Solo Practice of the Riverside County Bar Association.
