Michael T. Wiwchar helps clients protect and profit from their innovations. He prepares and prosecutes patent applications and advises clients on patent strategy, portfolio management, and matters such as patent validity and freedom-to-operate. Michael works with clients across many technical industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and agriculture and food science.
Michael leverages a background in pharmacology and biology to enhance his work on technical patent applications. Before attending law school, he earned his Ph.D. at the University of Nevada, where he investigated the pharmacology of calcium-activated chloride channels in the pulmonary vasculature.
Michael also conducted research at St. Boniface Research Centre’s Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, where he studied the role of cell adhesion regulation in the development of hemangioendo the lioma.
