
Michele Connell serves as managing partner of the firm’s Cleveland office and is a partner in the Corporate Practice. She is also a member of the firm’s Latin America Executive Committee, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions in Brazil.
Michele focuses her practice on international mergers and acquisitions, compliance and securities law matters, and corporate governance practices. Michele has completed transactions in more than 20 countries and routinely manages teams of professionals across the globe.
She counsels multiple public and private companies and their boards of directors on corporate governance practices and securities compliance matters.
Before attending law school, Michele was a foreign service officer with the US Department of State, serving as a diplomat in Warsaw, Poland and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Michele received the Meritorious Honor Award from the US government for her service.
Michele is a member of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals of Cleveland, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Greater Cleveland. She is also on the Board of Trustees and executive committee of University Circle, Inc.
Michele is in the leadership of DirectWomen, a national nonprofit that works to increase the representation of women lawyers on corporate boards, and is a member of In Counsel with Women.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of BVU: The Center for Nonprofit Excellence and serves on the visiting committee for Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
