Ms. Michelle M. Scannell is a senior associate in the Labor & Employment Practice Group of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She is particularly well-versed in in employee benefits litigation under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Ms. Scannell has significant experience defending class and individual claims relating to pension, welfare, and severance benefits, and issues regarding plan administration and fiduciary responsibility.
Ms. Scannell also litigates wage and hour class and representative actions arising under the California Labor Code, as well as single and multi-plaintiff claims for wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and harassment.
She also counsels clients on various laws affecting the employment relationship and provides guidance on employment policies and other matters including employee complaints, workplace investigations, leaves of absence, and accommodations for disabled employees.
