
Milo Cogan’s practice includes all aspects of civil litigation, with a focus on complex commercial litigation. He has represented a broad spectrum of large, small, and family owned companies as both plaintiffs and defendants. Milo takes a practical, results-driven approach to litigation and conflict resolution, and helps his clients reach swift, cost effective solutions to their problems.
Milo was a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Groups at McGuireWoods, and has both federal and state court trial and appellate experience, as well as experience representing creditors in United States Bankruptcy Courts.
Milo has litigated disputes pertaining to a wide range of subject matters, including: commercial contract disputes, business torts, restrictive covenants, including non-competition, non-solicitation and nondisclosure, consumer and commercial credit/creditors’ rights, insurance defense and coverage issues, franchise litigation, including trademark infringement claims, employment matters, trade secrets, healthcare, wrongful death, collection and garnishment, environmental law, intellectual property, partnership disputes, Fair Credit Reporting Act claims, and state consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices claims. In addition, Milo has represented many of his clients in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Milo is admitted to practice in all Georgia courts, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and sits on the Board of Advisors to The Latin-American Company, an international business development and strategy consultant that focuses on Brazil.
