With a background in electrical engineering and knowledge of computer science and mechanical engineering, Miyoung Shin focuses her practice on patent law, including patent prosecution, patent litigation and post-grant review proceedings.
She has handled a wide range of technical fields including cellular communication systems, Android operating system, flat display devices, semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes, digital rights management, work process software, home appliances, a flow sensing system, medical devices, vehicle occupant sensing systems, sample analyzers, and internet hosting systems.
Miyoung oversees all aspects of clients’ patent portfolios and her counsel includes reviewing patented technology, analyzing prior art and evidence and writing post grant petitions, opinions, appeal briefs, motions and responses.
She provides relevant, practical advice for clients and has argued before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has also practiced as a registered Korean patent attorney.
