
Ms. Mona E. Lawton is counsel in the Labor and Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Chicago Office. She represents employers in a wide range of employment matters, including claims brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related state and local statutes.
Ms. Lawton has experience representing employers in federal and state courts, administrative agency investigations, arbitrations, and mediations. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies, as well as small- and medium-sized employers, in a variety of industries.
Having served as both in-house and outside counsel, Ms. Lawton also has experience conducting and advising on workplace investigations, reviewing and drafting personnel policies and employee handbooks, and advising management and HR partners with respect to terminations, accommodation and leave issues, and other workplace concerns.
