Morgan Scott Jr. is a member of the Woods Rogers Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. He has extensive trial experience, having argued numerous cases in both Virginia and federal courts. He has also written and participated in appeals, including complex civil and criminal matters.
Morgan serves as an instructor in trial advocacy for the Department of Justice, the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and the University of Virginia Trial Advocacy programs. He also teaches criminal justice at Roanoke College.
Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Morgan served as the First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Clerk in the Western District of Virginia. He also served as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Newport News, Va., and Clerk of the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Virginia.
Other positions include Assistant U.S. Attorney, Senior Litigation Counsel, Criminal Chief, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, and U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Virginia.
