Ms. Myra B. Villamor is an attorney in the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw and a member of the Labor & Employment practice group. She defends management against class, multi-plaintiff, and single plaintiff employment lawsuits, including wage and hour, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
Ms. Villamor represents employers before federal and California state courts, as well as federal and California administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Labor Commissioner. She has also obtained complete defense victories in state and federal bench and jury trials.
Ms. Villamor provides practical advice and counsel to employers regarding compliance with state and federal employment law and litigation risk management. She has experience reviewing and drafting employment policies, procedures, handbooks, and other employment-related documents.
Ms. Villamor is a member of Seyfarth’s ADA Title III Specialty Team, and defends clients in lawsuits arising under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and related California disability access laws. She has obtained summary judgment and trial wins for Fortune 500 clients in highly contentious disability access lawsuits.
Ms. Villamor also advises clients throughout the United States regarding ADA requirements and creating compliance policies and training programs. Ms. Villamor served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcón, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
