Natalie K. Kissinger is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and white collar criminal investigations and defense.
Her civil practice is wide-ranging with significant experience in the pharmaceutical/medical device, healthcare, agricultural product, telecommunications, banking, and pet product industries. She has developed particular expertise related to toxic tort and product liability cases, including specific causation issues in medical device, pharmaceutical, asbestos, and chemical cases.
She has had leadership roles on numerous trial teams in state and federal court and before arbitral tribunals including managing extensive discovery, briefing and arguing dispositive motions, and securing and working with expert witnesses. Recently, Natalie was part of a team that secured a victory in an arbitration involving a Fortune 50 company with over $500 million at stake.
In her white collar and investigations practice, Natalie has advised numerous clients who were under state and federal government investigation for securities, banking, and healthcare fraud. In addition, she has participated in internal investigations advising clients on maintaining privilege, Park doctrine issues, and litigation strategy.
Natalie is also the co-author of a chapter on maintaining privilege during securities investigations for the Practicing Law Institutes’ Securities Investigations Treatise.
As part of her pro bono practice, Natalie has applied her knowledge of complex scientific and medical issues in two pro bono felony defense trials. Natalie received her JD with Honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where she received the Thomas L. Mulroy Prize for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy and Oral Argument in the Hinton Moot Court Competition. Natalie joined Mayer Brown in 2009.
