Nate S. Ngerebara focuses on patent trials and appeals in federal district courts, Section 337 investigations at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), and inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
While having a chemical engineering background, his work involves a variety of technologies, including semiconductors, consumer electronics, software, medical devices and telecommunications.
Nate’s litigation experience includes pre-trial briefing, fact and expert witness discovery, depositions, claim construction, and motions practice. In addition to his patent practice, Nate maintains an active pro bono docket, representing tenants facing eviction in Silicon Valley before California state courts, as well as representing currently incarcerated persons filing juvenile resentencing petitions before the D.C. Superior Court.
He also publishes regularly on developments in patent and trade secret law. Prior to law school, Nate worked as an engineering intern at a paper manufacturing company and at a medical device company.
In law school, he served as director of the U.C. Berkeley Mock Trial team, published on the Berkeley Law and Technology Journal, and taught as a graduate student instructor. He completed an internship at Google, serving as a member of the patent strategy team. In addition to guest lecturing, Nate serves as a coach for the Berkeley Law Trial Advocacy Team.
