Nathan Leber is a trial lawyer representing clients in complex civil lawsuits and administrative proceedings. He has advised and defended clients across multiple industries, including chemicals, manufacturing, computer software, insurance, healthcare, education and financial services.
His practice also extends to representing foreign government officials and foreign bank executives. Nate has extensive experience working on high-value, high-profile cases that receive significant media attention.
Nate’s representative experience includes his participation on the core defense team for a Fortune 500 global science company in federal multidistrict litigation involving novel claims of personal injury and wrongful death arising from alleged toxic exposures to perfluorinated compounds in drinking water.
Nate’s representation of this client includes participation on multiple trial teams, taking expert and fact-witness depositions, expert retention and involvement in a significant amount of motion practice. For this case, Nate also helped to design, and oversaw, a process by which more than 2,000 complaints filed in state court were timely removed and transferred to federal court.
Nate has also defended clients in a variety of commercial matters, including serving as lead counsel for an overseas manufacturer of construction equipment in a products liability dispute and working with a team of lawyers representing a global bank in cross-border class actions.
Nate maintains an active pro bono practice, including drafting a clemency petition on behalf of a federal inmate originally given a life sentence for a non-violent offense. President Obama granted the petition and Nate’s client was released from federal incarceration.
Nate sits on the board of directors for Linking Employment, Abilities, and Potential, which is a nonprofit agency that works to advance equality for people with disabilities in Northeast Ohio.
